ABOUT THE ORIGINAL STYLE

Maulona can be considered a kind of Bitter English style beer. The main feature is the bitterness given by English hops; it is a very drinkable style, where the bitter taste combines with the fruity one. It is a fresh and tasty beer, and there are a variety of Ales with different alcoholic degree: Bitter Ale (3,5/4° vol), Special or Best Bitter (4-5° vol.), Extra Special Bitter (more than 5° vol.). We suggest not to serve this beer at a too much high temperature.

ABOUT THE ORIGINAL STYLE

The IPA or India Pale Ale is a style of brewing typical of the colonial exported English beers. The necessity to preserve the beer into the ships in the long way to India required a higher amount of hop in the recipe. In January 1835 the term “India Pale Ale” was used for the first time on the Liverpool Mercury economic journal, and after that date all the beers exported to India were called IPA. Nowadays we can find the following varieties: APA or American Pale Ale, dry and more hopped, or Imperial Pale or Double, more alcoholic.

ABOUT THE ORIGINAL STYLE

The Kölsch is one of the most particular beers in Germany and one of the very last high fermentation beers, its production takes place in Köln and is regulated by the Kölsch Convention. It is a Hell low malt beer, with a creamy foam, but the high fermentation yeast gives it a singular, almost fruity flavor, balanced by a moderate dry sensation. This makes it a smooth, light, refreshing and satisfying beer, with a full round body, but easy to drink at the same time. It is traditionally served in the so called “Kölschglas”, a long and thin glass filling 20 cl, served on trays with holes to put the glasses in.
